Fresh Flower Production Recognized as Essential by Kenya's Ministry of Industrialization

Nairobi, April 14 - According to the document "Frequently Asked Questions for business operations during curfew and restricted travel period of COVID-19 crisis" compiled by Kenya's Ministry of Industrialization, Trade and Enterprise Development and distributed by the Kenya Flower Council, fresh flowers are listed as "essential products and distribution networks". The status will allow Kenyan flower industry that employs over 100.000 people and supplies one-third of all roses sold in the EU to operate past currently imposed curfew hours and beyond restricted travel areas.
