China's NFGA Releases 7th batch of Protectable Genera & Species
December 22, 2020 - China's National Forest and Grassland Administration (NFGA) has released the 7th batch of protectable genera and species. The list contains many commercially important ornamental genera and species and will be implemented in January 2021.
However, ten of the listed species including Begonia L., Chrysanthemum L., Cymbidium Sw., Dianthus L., Hemerocallis L., Iris L., Lavandula L., Limonium Mill., Pennisetum Rich., and Poa pratensis L. are currently protectable under MARA's purview. CIOPORA has reached out to the Chinese authorities to clarify the issue.
