Where is Kunming and what can I find there...

Known for its mild climate and vibrant natural beauty, Kunming is a gateway to stunning landscapes like the Stone Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring dramatic limestone formations. Located in Kunming Dian Lake Tourist Resort, HUALUXE Kunming is surrounded by the tributaries of Dian Lake and adjacent to many famous tourist attractions. China FAQ's

Yes, most international attendees will need a visa to enter China, unless exempted under applicable agreements or regulations. Depending on your purpose of visit, we recommend applying for either a Tourist Visa (L) or a Business Visa (M). Please contact your local Chinese consulate or embassy for specific requirements and processing times. You can find more information in the China Consular Affair website here.

 Do I need a visa to enter China?

If you require an invitation letter to support your visa application, you can download the Visa Application Form from the Member Area of our website. Non-members should contact our team at andres.velasquez@ciopora.org or stephanie.mitzschke@ciopora.org for assistance.

Can CIOPORA assist with my visa application?

While no specific vaccinations are required for travel to China, we recommend being up-to-date on routine vaccinations such as measles, mumps, rubella (MMR), tetanus, and influenza. Consult your healthcare provider for personalized travel health advice.

Do I need any vaccinations to travel to China?

Kunming is served by Kunming Changshui International Airport (KMG), which offers direct flights from various international destinations. From the airport, taxis and public transportation are available to reach the city center and the event venue.

The CIOPORA Annual General Meeting (AGM) & International Congress is our flagship event, uniting members, authorities, and key stakeholders from the plant breeding sector to tackle challenges faced by breeders and discuss CIOPORA’s strategic direction. In 2025, the AGM will take place in Kunming, China, with a focus on business opportunities, the Chinese landscape for plant breeders, and intellectual property protection.

What is the CIOPORA AGM & International Congress?

The CIOPORA AGM and International Congress will be held from April 5 to 9, 2025, at the Hualuxe Kunming Hotel, located at No. 5 West Hongta Road, Kunming, Yunnan, China, 650228.

When and where is the AGM taking place?

The event is open to CIOPORA members, invited guests, and industry professionals interested in plant breeding and intellectual property rights. Certain activities may have specific eligibility requirements. Please refer to the agendas available on our website for more details.

How do I register for the AGM?

Will translation services be available?

Yes. The official language of the AGM is English, but to accommodate local attendees, simultaneous translation services English/Chinese will be provided.
