CIOPORA AGM 2026 in Alicante: Connecting the Global Plant Breeding Community

The CIOPORA AGM 2026 in Alicante will bring together more than 100 professionals from the plant breeding sector. Over the course of a week, the attendees will enjoy a range of activities focused on innovation, collaboration, and the protection of plant breeders’ rights.

This year’s edition is designed not only as a meeting space but also as an experience that combines strategic discussions, technical insights, and meaningful networking opportunities in one of Europe’s most dynamic horticultural regions.

Throughout the week, participants will have multiple opportunities to connect with other breeders, legal experts, and industry leaders. From informal gatherings to structured sessions, the program encourages open dialogue and the exchange of ideas across disciplines and regions.

Dr. Edgar Kieger, Secretary General of CIOPORA, says that “the future of plant breeding relies on continuous innovation. This work is driven by people who collaborate, exchange knowledge, and are committed to protecting breeders' innovation. This is the spirit that defines our CIOPORA AGM, which is why so many breeders come together for a full week, creating a unique space for collaboration and networking.”
