The co-owner of Kientzler and InnovaPlant Helmut Kientzler (68) passed away unexpectedly on March 7.
Born on February 8, 1950, the second son of Kientzler founders Else and Ludwig Kientzler, Helmut started his career in the family business aged 22 after acquiring his degree in economics. Over the course of his professional career, Helmut made a significant contribution to the development of his company and the green sector alike. Under his leadership, that for decades he harmoniously shared with his brother and business partner Ludwig, Kientzler company was established as a household name of the global green business.
His love for plants found its manifestation in tireless trend-setting innovation activities undertaken by the Kientzler group, fundamentally changing the face of the plant business and considerably enhancing the gardening experience for many plant lovers around the world. The establishment of the international Proven Winners® network, the success of the Bingen Landesgartenschau in 2009 and the annual rendition of Chaumont garden festival are just a few from the list of accomplishments that colleagues will remember him for.
