September 16, Frankfurt M. - Dr Jan de Riek was appointed CIOPORA Co-Vice President at the latest meeting of the CIOPORA Board. The research group leader at ILVO, the Institute for Agricultural and Fisheries Research, Belgium, Jan is a long-standing CIOPORA Board member. He is the Chairman and the brainpower behind the CIOPORA WorkingGroup Biotechnology and will continue to head the group in the future. At ILVO, Jan focuses on molecular genetics and breeding research in ornamental and agricultural crops. He holds a PhD in plant biotechnology from the University of Gent.
