Dutch Horticulture Receives 600 M in Governmental Help

April 16, Amsterdam/The Hague - The Dutch government made available a total package of EUR 950 M to support a number of sectors heavily hit by the COVID-19 crisis. A total of 650 million euros was set aside to compensate the floriculture as well as the vegetable and potato subsectors for their crisis-related losses.

According to Minister of Agriculture Carola Schouten the bailout package in the agricultural sector is for sectors that "were not helped by the emergency package that the cabinet previously implemented". The aim is to cover up to 70 percent of the turnover losses the flower business is currently experiencing.
