About us
CIOPORA Germany was founded in 1986 as an association of German breeders of asexually reproduced ornamental and fruit varieties.
CIOPORA Germany supports all activities of the CIOPORA.
Specific national tasks and aims are:
- comprehensive information of the members about all activities of CIOPORA
- representation of member interests via-a-vis the national authorities
responsible for variety testing and protection of breeders' rights
- maintaining and promoting breeding research and breeding of ornamental
and fruit species in member firms, universities and public financed research
institutions
- maintaining and promoting the university education of future breeder
generations
- promoting breeding innovations in member companies and in cooperation
between member companies and research institutions
- assistance in raising public funds for breedings research and research
partners.
Members of CIOPORA Germany are kept informed on national and international developments in the area of plant breeders' rights by circular letters. Additionally, members have the possibility to input on ongoing projects.

Membership
CIOPORA Germany currently has more than 60 members, including original breeder firms, lawyers, royalty administrations and research institutions.
In principle CIOPORA Germany members should also be members of CIOPORA.
The membership fee is 200 EUR in the first year;
The Board determins the fees for the following years on one of three levels (200 / 400 / 600 EUR).
